Grout cleaning and stain removal

The safest way to clean grout is to start with the gentlest method that works: warm water and a stiff nylon brush, then a pH-neutral cleaner, then an alkaline cleaner for oily soil or oxygen bleach for organic stains. Acids are a last resort, because they dissolve cement grout and etch marble, limestone and travertine.

Never mix chlorine bleach with ammonia or with acids. If you are unsure what a product is, check its pH in the cleaner pH guide.
